I'm looking for information on Joseph T. PHILLIPS who is on the 1880 Cooke Co. TX census and the 1900 Chickasaw Nation (Indian Terr.) census. His wife's name is Sarah J. and, according to the census, they have 17 children, 14 of whom are still living in 1900. They married in 1865, probably in AR since Sarah was born there as well as their first 9 children. It's possible Sarah is Joseph's second wife since he's 22 years older than she is. I'd appreciate any help on this family, especially a first wife for Joseph. Thanks, Jan

I am Gerry Kirk, a new member of this website, who is researching her son-in-law's PHILLIPS family. I would be grateful for any information anyone might have regarding the following: Isaac Quentin PHILLIPS b: March 1857 in Indiana d: Texas (?) m: abt 1886 to: Annie Louisa WILSON in Indiana Children of this Marriage: Mary PHILLIPS b: September 1886 in Indiana m: Unknown VANVACTOR James Lester PHILLIPS b: February 1892 in Kirklin, Clinton, Indiana James S. PHILLIPS (father of Isaac) b: [abt 1815] in North Carolina NOTE: 1900 Census, Kansas, Douglas County, Grant Township, ED #55, Sheet 6, Line 17 - shows James S. PHILLIPS at age 84 [birth year 1815] was living in the same household as his son, Isaac PHILLIPS. His father and mother were born in North Carolina. Could James S. PHILLIPS possibly be the first son of Absalom PHILLIPS and Frances H. Thomas of Chatham and Moore Counties in North Carolina? Thank you. Gerry Kirk Germantown, MD
I'm searching for information on my mother's birth parents and family. She was born Ruby Catherine PHILLIPS Nov. 24, 1911 in Braymer, MO, and immediately put in the Children's Home Society of Missouri for adoption. Earnest and Nella Richardson of St. Louis adopted her in 1913, and she grew up as Nella Jane Richardson. Repeated attempts through the proper channels in Missouri and the Children's Home Society to try to acquire a birth certificate have been consistently unsuccessful. Still alive at 91, my mother is a widow in retirement in Lancaster, CA. We'd love to find family somewhere! Thanks to anyone who can help. Richard Tennesen, Capitola, CA

I just received an unsolicited piece of mail from an organ- ization I have been warned about in the past. I partially checked it out and found that they did indeed require your bank account number to take advantage of their offer of a "free" five day trial. You never want to give your bank account, social security, credit-card or other such personal.information unless you initiate and solicit the contact, and even then be VERY careful! This offer read: "To Claim your Free 5 Day Trial simply visit the website: genseekers.com" I suspect that this is another of their mass mailings and I would urge you to avoid them. I posted the following info about Mollie Phillips. Some friends from a different list provided with me more details about Mollie. I'll start by posting again the facts regarding Mollie Mollie PHILLIPS was born in MAR-1860 in Putnam Co., WV. She died 17-JUN-1937 in Mason Co., WV. She married John Esau AEIKER on 20-JUL-1880 at Scary Creek, Putnam Co., WV. Her parents are John F. PHILLIPS and Penelope Ann MARKHAM. John was born abt. 1833 in Botetourt Co., VA. His parents were James M. PHILLIPS (born abt. 1808) and Mary Ann POWERS (born abt. 1813). Penelope was abt. 1835 in Botetourt Co., VA. Her parents are Thomas MARKHAM Sr. (born abt. 1794) and Martha L. UNKNOWN (born abt. 1803). Penelope and John both appeared on the 1850 census of Botetourt Co., VA; 1870 and 1880 census in Putnam Co., WV. I guess now my question would be to know more about James. M. Phillips and more dates and his parents? and if no info could be provided where might I go to obtain this information? Sincerely, Carla
