We are both descended from the same Elizabeth Hunter Phillips Barfoot! In past years I have made contact with several other Barfoot decendants, although I have not worked on my family history in several years. Re: Elizabeth---I am MOST interested in knowing about her mother, Nancy ?? Hunter (Mrs. Malcolm). I have never been able to pinpoint her birth name, parents, etc., although it has been hinted that she may have been a Henderson. (Others suggest that she was a Hayward.) If you are interested in receiving more information on Elizabeth's first family, please let me know. Sincerely, Ruth Anderson

Surnames: Phillips, Biggs, Heffner Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/5745 Message Board Post: Lillie Laura Heffner married John Biggs Phillips (1854-1917). John's parents were Charles Titus Phillips (1828-1892) and Margarette Ann Biggs Phillips (1835-1882), both from NJ. They had children John Biggs, Henry W., William, Adoniran Judson (died in infancy), and another male child who died in childhood. I had long thought Charles & Margaret had migrated from Hunterdon Co., NJ to Prince George's County, Maryland; however, I discovered them living in Falls Church, Fairfax Co., VA in the 1870 census. This makes sense, as I had always wondered how son John had met Lillie. Now that I know they both lived in Fairfax Co. at some point, it makes more sense. I can find no other information about Charles & Margaret - whether they stayed in Falls Church area until death or whether they migrated to Prince George's area. Does anyone have access to 1860 Federal Census index for Fairfax Co., VA, early newspaper records for that area, land records, or cemetery records? I've searched the usual resources for those things, in LDS, Ancestry.com, Genealogy.com, and the various cemetery search packages. I've also already checked the 1880 census through the LDS site and was unable to find them, either in VA or MD. I am willing to share my research on this family with anyone who is interested. Jen
