I haven't come across James Phillips living in Rector household, and I have been looking for my Phillips' in Vigo County, same time period. To anyone who needs a new puzzle to look at: Looking for information on Beauchamp, Daniel and Malinda Ann. Malinda married Joseph Phillips in 1872. Am trying to determine their children, and if they had both died by 1880. On 1880 Clark Co. census, Daniel Beachum (actually Beauchamp) and Jane Beachum (believe Jane to be Rebecca Jane Ransford) have 7 year old nephew, Nevada Phillips living with them. I believe Malinda Ann Beauchamp and Joseph Phillips to be Nevada's parents, and also believe Daniel and Malinda to be brother and sister. Nevada ended up first marriage to Martha Ransford. Nevada is my ggrandfather. All suggestions welcome, hope to hear from some family.
