    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/7573.1 Message Board Post: I found the following query posted that has tantalizingly precise but undocumented data posted: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nNABAIB/7376 I am searching for information on the Phillips and Linton families of Fauquier Co. VA. Most of the following information from a family member is undocumented: Fielding Phillips married Nancy Linton on 17 Feb 1790 in Fauquier Co. Va. (This is documented in "Fauquier Families, 1759-1799"). Fielding Phillips' father was Henry Phillips. Nancy Linton's parents were George and Nancy Linton. The children of Fielding Phillips and Nancy Linton were: Elizabeth b. 19 Dec 1790 m. Luthor Pryor (son of John Pryor and Margaret Garvin) William b. 15 June 1792 m. Sarah (or Nancy) Pryor) George b. 15 Jan 1794 m. Mary Mahala Gregg and Mahala Eweres Nelson b. 17 June 1796 m. Elizabeth Boyd Barnett b. 4 April 1798 m. Rhoda Ward Sarah b. 1800 m. Joel Millison Alcinda b. 1803 m. Enoch Burns Emily b. 20 June 1808 m. Samuel Russell Evaline b. 1810 m. Jesse Boyd Nancy m. William Russell Fielding Jr. b. 13 April 1813 m. Susan Sherwood Maria Ann b. 1816 m. Jonas Groves George, Nelson, and Barnett Phillips subsequently moved to Belmont Co. Ohio. Fielding Phillips also may have died in Belmont Co. Ohio Thank you. Ron Bloch ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I searched the 1840 Census for Belmont Co., Ohio and found the following: Barnet Phillips Goshen Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 40-50 George Philips Goshen Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 40-50 John Philips Goshen Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 20-30 Nelson Philips Goshen Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 40-50 Nelson Philips, Jr. Goshen Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 20-30 William Philips Goshen Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 40-50 It looks like the four brothers and two sons all in the same township. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I found Fielding Phillips in the 1830 Census for Belmont Co., Ohio. Fielding Phillips Wayne Twsp, Belmont, Ohio age 60-70 Wayne Township is just below Goshen Township See: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbelmon/townships.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So it certainly looks possible. Good luck in your search! Herb Savage

Maybe my address is blocked or you have spam blocker?? We should talk though. All I have for William and Charlotte is a date of birth. It would be great to see copies of the things you have. Right now I don't have a whole lot on Grandma Mary's family either. My Grandma Jo says she was Canook (sp?) Indian but I haven't found anything that mentions it. I though maybe George was William's brother but I don't know. I believe there are a few pictures of Grandma Marie and Grandpa Pete between my mom and I. I would gladly send you copies of those if you want. Thanks for everything. This bunch has been a huge brick wall for me. Hopefully we can get in touch this weekend.

I also have Abe and Nancy. I also have all marriage info on William and Charlotte, date and place etc. Do you have that. I have citiizenship papers on Peter (full set) and declaration of intent for Charlotte. I have death certificates (copies) on William Henry, and for Charlotte. Also, a couple of others. Also, a marriage certificate (copy) for Peter William and Mary. Anything I have I'll be happy to send you. In Ontario Marriage Registrations, I found a Leonard Phillips, who was the s/o Abraham and Nancy Phillips so a possible brother. I also have Georges census info and haven't made the connection, but am sure there is one. Can't wait to hear from you. It's much nicer having someone else to share with. I've been able to get a smidgeon of info on Grandma Mary's family, but not alot.

Hopefully the email thing will work out because we are on opposite shift. I leave at 2 pm and get home around 1 am, unless we work overtime. Anyway, it was great to hear from you. I don't have much on Peter's family either. They are pretty sneaky. From what I've heard William's father was Abe, from Scotland, and his mother was Nancy Barnes? from Ireland. There is someone I've been trying to figure out, I think he must be connected to the family but I don't know how. George H. Phillips born 1851/1852 and lived in Deerfield, MI at the time of the 1880 census. He was born in Canada and his wife's name was Mary Bullock. William, Charlotte and Peter are shown living in their household but the relationship is other. Hopefully this will get to you. If I don't hear back from you, I will paste it on rootsweb and try to call this weekend. Take care, Jessica
