Rene, all I know is what was in the article and it didn't mention any other children of John Phelan except the one son James. BUT this Phelan line has the antebellum home in Memphis called the Hunt Phelan Home in which at one time Grant set up his office when occupying Memphis. Because of the historic value of this family and home in Memphis, it may be possible for me to find out more in the Memphis library. I'll check on that in the next couple of weeks and let the list know.
