His father Thomas J .Phelan and Thomas's father Benjamin or Berryman S. Phelan. I researched the census film and personal tax records in Marble Hill, Mo. also in Cape Girardeau,Mo.It appeared to be Benjamin in his own writing. Benjamin S. Phelan married Jane Cobb,30th June l842,. I have the marriage record. Also all of his children and marrriage records. I don't know his brothers or sisters. B. S was born in Tn. and Jane in SC.
