Kathleen, I have a Catherine Phelan from Kilkenny. Longshot, I know, but mine was born about 1856, and was married to Richard Fewer on 2 Feb 1871. She had a brother named Matthew who was married to Margaret Sullivan about 1892. Matthew and Margaret's daughter Mary lived in CA. I'm not entirely sure about the rest of them, when/if they came over here. Would there be any connection??
