Glenda ************** Source: IRELAND-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL~ROOTS] Searching for Origen of Thomas Feland I would appreciate any info available on my ancester Thomas Feland who "legend" has it came over to Virginia about 1750 from Ulster Province. I found land purchased by him in 1769 in Bedford county Va. but nothing prior. The name is variously spelled as Failing,Fealan, Failing or Felan on the documents. I understand that in Ireland it would have been spelled Phelan. He came over with two brothers and I think they were Protestants. I have had no luck with ship passenger lists and have hit the proverbial brick wall so am hoping some kind soul can suggest where I might turn to further pursue where this first Feland came from in Ireland. Has anyone ever been on the Feland trail in Ireland before? I am new at this hobby and am sure there are clues I'm just not aware of which are out there somewhere! Thanks Heaps !
