Jack, give us some info on your GGF, name, where located, etc. Let's see what turns up. Anyone can join the Phalen list if they want to by sending a message to PHALEN-L-request@rootsweb.com and put only the word subscribe in the body of the letter. Personally, I would cover all the bases and join both because it's very common to see the same name spelled both ways in the records. That way, in case soneone joins the Phalen list without joining the Phelan list, you'll still be able to catch any of their messages. I just put a note in the welcome message for the Phalen list to advise them to join the Phelan list. Maybe this will take care of the confusion. Glenda > I've been following the Phelan Site for over a year. This is the first mention of the Phalen list that I've seen. My GGF came from Ireland about 1850. I have death certificates on my GF and My Grandfather John. I would like to trace my GGF to Ireland to see if he had any siblings (Phalen, Phelan, Whalen, etc.). Any suggestions will be appreciated. > > Jack Phalen > >
