Anyone have any ideas on how to get the activity up on the list? The more we communicate, the more likely we are to connect to someone. As I said a few messages back, we have several new subscribers on the list and I encourage them to post a query to the list giving us their earliest known ancestor, time frame, location, etc. Also, the "old" (sorry) subscribers might want to take this opportunity to let us know what ancestor they're having the most difficulty with. For me, I'd like to know what happened to Evans Phelan, son of Thomas and Mary (Evans) Phelan. He sold land in Bledsoe Co., TN in 1829 and he disappeared. I believe his son to be my ggf James Monroe Phelan born 1824 in Bledsoe Co but since courthouse burned 99% of records lost. I've tried looking in surrounding counties but so far no luck. James Monroe Phelan's siblings were: Berryman Shepherd (resided in MO); Gideon Grant (served in Civil War and lived in Union Co., IL during the 1840-1860 time frame; Francis Marion (supposedly lived in Oregon in 1844); Jeremiah , Epsy Phelan Caraker, Rebecca Phelan Jones and Dicey B. Phelan Corzine all lived in Union Co., IL. I've made contact with Berryman Shepherd and Gideon Grant's descendants but no luck with the other 5 siblings. I have records of all siblings, including spouses, children, etc except for Francis Marion. Any help appreciated. Glenda (listmanager)
