Greetings to one and all, Our James Phelan was born in April 1856 somewhere in Ireland. He married Mary Carrolton Bowe, widow of Thomas Bowe, around 1880. James and Mary emigrated with her 10 year old daughter, Catherine, in 1882 to the United States. They lived in Buffalo Ny for a short time and finally settled in Youngstown, Ohio. James was a laborer for the Consolidated Company in Youngstown and was killed in a job related accident on June 15th, 1908. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. According to the 1900 census, Mary had given birth to six children and only one lived to adulthood which was Catherine Bowe. This is the only information that I have on him.
