Cork0 parents: Unknown; but oldest son was named John Joseph PHELAN married: ca 1855 to Bridget CUMMINGS b.ca 1837; dau of John & Ellen CUMMINGS emigrated: to Canada sometime before 1857 as their oldest child was born in Canada migrated: to New York City before 1870 as they are enumerated in the 1870 Census in NYC children: John Joseph b.ca 1857 Canada d.1887, NYC *never married Mary Ellen b.ca 1860 Canada d.1938, West NY, NJ * same Anastasia b.ca 1862 Canada d.1901, NYC m.1885 to William Henry CARR b.1861, NYC Anastasia PHELAN & Wm. H. CARR are my gr-grandparents. I have no clue as to where the family lived in Canada. One of the witnesses at Anastasia & Wm. CARR's wedding was William Whealon... I suspect that his name was really Whelan. Thomas Phelan d.1880 in NYC. Who are Thomas parents? Where was the family in Canada? is anyone else researching a family that might be connected??
