Glenda (listmanager) I am looking for a John Whalen,Phelan,O'Phelan born in about 1828 in county Waterford Ireland, Parents John Whalen and Mary Powers. Came to U.S.A. in about 1860 and setlled in or near Perry N.C.. He had a brother Martin Whalen who settled in Pearl Creek N.Y. in about 1860. Martin is my g.Grand father. Some time in the lat 1800's Martin and his wife Ellen Powers Whalen were referred to as the O' Phelan by a neighbor. Perry has long ceased to be a town .
