It is now Rheinland-Pfalz, the area is called Rheinhessen. And to make it more complicated: FHL is handling the situation in 1870 and this means Kreuznach to be in the Prussian Province Rheinland. > Does anyone on this list know if the Bad Kreuznach church or civil records > (I'm looking for the period 1775-1850 which is NOT on FHL microfilm) would > be in B.K. or would they be somewhere else? I would assume civil records starting somewhere in 1800 to be in Bad Kreuznach. You should have a call to Verbandsgemeindeverwaltung Bad Kreuznach +49 671/910, ask for Standesamt and inquire for the records.
