I appreciate so much the very kind responses to my request concerning the location of Flomborn and Freimersheim. I understand they are both approx. 5 km. south of Alzey (Rheinhessen) or approximately 3.5 miles south. Would anyone care to guess the approximate population of these towns? I was told they are "little towns". Does that mean 10,000 population? 5000? Even a good guess would be appreciated. In 1846 a young lady from Freimersheim (Anna Maria Schmitt) married a young man from Flomborn (Heinrich Boehner). These are probably my great-great grandparents, but I want to rule out anyone else with the same names from this locality since Anna's German birthdate is 2 months and several days different in the American record.
