    3. Dear Pfalz Listers, Long postings to lists seldom work, so I did not tell all in my request for help on the SEBASTIAN-SCHEIDT lines. So now I will tell more. I am responsible for the LDS Ancestral file listings on Adam SEBASTIAN. Those got to the Ancestral File by accident, when I was younger and stupid. Now I am older, but those files stay the same. Through various methods of deceit and cunning, I learned that the Catholic church Adam and Hedwig were part of, was St. Martin of Tours (in Louisville). I have copies of some of the Church's documents about them, but no mention of their home villages. They are buried in St. Michael Cemetery in Louisville. Adam's tombstone clearly says "Adam Sebastian," but the rest of the information on the stone is illegible and does not lend itself to the usual methods of deciphering with paper, chalk, etc. The staff of the four Catholic Cemeteries in Louisville has been wonderful, but information on the deceased is skimpy. In Louisville, a southern city, back in 1874, little notice was taken of a German Catholic immigrant's death. Death certificates were not seriously used until 1911. I need to concentrate on German records. SEBASTIAN and SCHEIDT were unusual surnames for Germans, so that ought to count for something. I looked in the LDS IGI files for Sebastian and I found a few areas where Sebastians congregated. But Adam and Andreas were not among them. Probably Adam was from an area where the LDS did not photograph records. Thanks to all of you who have taken the trouble to help. Tom the bewildered
