Nice to see a surname pop up that is in my ancestry. Been checking and posting my surnames once in a while. I have a Wendel Kammerer in my family. I guess I would be his half third great-grandnephew. My records indicate he was born in Kirrweiler, Pfalz Bayern Germany. I do not know anything else about him or where he migrated, nor who he married. I do not know if he is the same one mentioned by "Sassy" at 6:19 am posting to the list. Below is a small tree to show some other relationships. And to amplify more what David from Mainz stated, you can see by the variations withing the same family some one may have made errors transcribing names inside the same family. All my entries came from the LDS microfilm records. It also shows to the novice (like me), the confusion trying to trace someone back, if you only have their name, and do not have the parents names. As seen below it would be a little confusing for some one researching any of the children of Johannes Caemmerer and Maria Salome Godelmann to do so if they did not know from the spelling of their names that they were their children. I have a seperate listing of the microfilm numbers if any one researchig this surname and all it's variations may be interested. If it would be of more benefit to share the list of the numbers with the whole list I will do so. The outline below shows, I think most of the variations of the surname, except mine, which is Kaemerer. There is a funny story surrounding the change of my surname from Kaemmerer to Kaemerer.
