Kathy, The names of villages are referenced to an administration center (what we would call a county seat), propably because there were so many villages with the same name. Rheinpfalz is a region NW of Stuttgart that was under the control of Bavaria (Bayern). Read about it on the German Genealogy webpages (http://www2.genealogy.net/gene/) in the area discussion of Rheinland-Pfalz (http://www2.genealogy.net/gene/reg/RHE-PFA/rhein-p.html). BTW, Rheinland-Pfalz is also sometimes called the Palatinates. Neudstadt is a major city in the area. According to ShtetlSeeker (http://www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm) Lambrecht is about 3.8 miles NW of Neudstadt. Seebach is 6.9 miles N. Bad Dürrheim is a city in Baden, about 94 miles S, but Bad Dürkheim is a town 8.4 miles NNE of Neudstadt. Taufen means baptism, heiraten means marriage, and tote means death. According to FamilySearch there are many records, including both church and civil records, for Lambrecht available at your local LDS Family History Center on microfilm.
