Thanks for the post about Kirchheimbolanden Where did you find the record of the birth of Johann Christoph Schacke on Jun 8 1720 in Kirchheimbolanden? Was it from the Catholic church book in Kirchheimbolanden? If so then you have a similar situation to mine. > From 1695-1725 I find Comens /Comen baptisms in the Catholic church in Kirchheimbolanden and in the Lutheran Churches in Morschheim, Orbis and Wendelsheim a few miles away. Were members of the same family really in different religions or did laws or customs force one to be baptized catholic in the town of Kirchheimbolanden but Lutheran or Evangelical in villages a few miles further north? I think it may have even been shared at some time. The village square is marked my a statue of Mozart, who made St. Paul's church and it's organ (Stumm 1745) famous by playing there in 1778. http://www.mozartways.com/content.php?m=2&typ2=52&lang=en The website above indicates that an early Catholic church building is now a rifle club.
