Hello Does anyone have information on either of these two SCHACKE families? In Kirchheimbolanden, Pfalz, Bayern, Jacob SCHACKE a master ropemaker and councilman, a native of Switzerland, and Johanna Elisabetha and son Johann Christoph SCHACKE born on the 8th June 1720. Are there other children for Jacob and Johanna Elisabetha? In nearby Evangelisch-Lutherische, Heuchelheim Frankenthal, Pfalz, Beyem the church records lists Abraham SCHACKE in many records from about 1705 to the 1730s and also notes that he is of Switzerland. Abraham is shown as dying on the 24th of April, 1730 aged 46 years, 7 months, 17 days. Church records show a marriage on 18 JAN 1707 of Abraham SCHACKE and Anna Hausamin. There are several children listed being born to Abraham and Anna Schacke. Valentin Schacke, born 11 Feb 1711, Christening 15 Feb 1711 Johannes Schacke, born 9 Jul 1712, Christening 10 Jul 1712 Anna Elisabetha Schacke, born 04 Jan 1715, Christening 06 Jan 1715. Anna Catharina Schacke, born 31 Aug 1716. Christening 02 Sep 1716 and Conf in 1731. Jacob Schacke, born 05 Apr 1719, Christening 10 Apr 1719 and died 30 Dec 1724. Anna Maria Schacke, born 25 Aug 1721, Christening 28 Aug 1721. Johann Jacob Schacke, born 26 Feb 1725, Christening 28 Feb 1725, death 03 May 1730. I am trying to find a provable link that shows a connection between Jacob SCHACKE and Abraham SCHACKE. I am also trying to determine the SWISS version of the SCHACKE surname and what area of Switzerland that they likely came from. Any help and leads greatly appreciated. Thanks for the post about Kirchheimbolanden Where did you find the record of the birth of Johann Christoph Schacke on Jun 8 1720 in Kirchheimbolanden? Was it from the Catholic church book in Kirchheimbolanden? If so then you have a similar situation to mine. >From 1695-1725 I find Comens /Comen baptisms in the Catholic church in Kirchheimbolanden and in the Lutheran Churches in Morschheim, Orbis and Wendelsheim a few miles away. Were members of the same family really in different religions or did laws or customs force one to be baptized catholic in the town of Kirchheimbolanden but Lutheran or Evangelical in villages a few miles further north?
