Researching 1. my great-great grandfather MICHAEL LANSCHE purportedly born in Ellerstadt, 1810, who came to USA before 1844, supposedly about 1840. He married CATHERINE LOEFFLER in Pennsylvania, probably about 1840, on his was to Missouri. Family story is that they knew each other in Germany. 2. my great-great grandparents CONRAD or KONRAD HERBEL and ELISABETH MEINHARDT HERBEL, both living in Ellerstadt where children were christened beginning in 1841. Came to St.Louis, Missouri, before 1870 census, as they are counted with their children BARBARA, LOUISE, ELISABETH, ANNA, and ANDREAS / ANDREW. The eldest son PHILIPP, was listed with his wife and family in rural Missouri.. 3. my great-grandfather PHILIPP HERBEL's eldest sister KATHRINA HERBEL, born in 1841 in Ellerstadt and not listed with the family in the 1870 Missouri census. We have information about the family after they were in St.Louis, MO, and would gladly share with other descendants. Great Grandfather PHILIPP HERBEL served in the Union Army from 1861 - 1864 during the Civil War of USA. Margie in Florida, USA
