    3. <div class="moz-text-flowed"> I wrote and I don't know where the above came from Look for people who lived near the Brunners and whose origin was Bavaria and Switzerland. I would think Bavaria is more likely because it was recorded nearer to his birth. Follow these neighbors as they might have come from the same town or area a the Brunners. In the 1880 Census there is a Henry Brunner, age 45, shoemaker born Switzerland and wife Mary age 43. their eldest was ae 24 born in OH. follow this family the earlier Census. > > I have no idea when they immigrated or if their parents immigrated/ I read the 1860 Census Frederick and Christina and all the children were born in Europe and emigrated in 1858 or 1859. I think 0 is a zero written later and not an O for Ohio. I think it mos likely that you will find the Brunners entered through New York. go to http://www.stevemorse.org/ and scroll down to Castle Garden and search for the Brunners, father, mother an children. I think he `1850s PALs will show country of origin. It is possible that they entered though Canada. either Quebec or Montreal. Look in later Census to see is the children and perhaps the parents were naturalized. If so get the naturalization record which may show country of origin. >What do the later Census say about the birthplace of Samuel and >Christina, the daughter? Where had the Brunners gone by 1880?. I do no find Samuel, Peter or Alfred in Cayuhoga County in 1880. In you original message you said Christina was bon about 1869.. So she was the second Christina, the one born c1849 must have died before 1870. bob gillis
