Steve I am looking for information on the Roemer family that came to U.S. in the 1840's or 50's and settled in Illinois near Chicago. I have researched the records of the town they were reported to have come from in Germany but found no Roemers in the catholic records. From the records I read on microfilm at the local family history center, it looked like the family I am researching had changed their name to Roemer when they came to this country but have no proof of that. Do you have information on this Roemer family that settled in New Trier Township, Illinois? Evelyn from Michigan
