I have a departure document for my Pees family from Baumholder . It is dated 1/4/1848 and list the whole family Wilhelm age 52 , Louisa nee Mettger age 47 , Louisa age 20, Frederich age 19, Daniel age 16, Elisabeth age 14, Catherine age 5 and Jacob age 11 . The next I found them living in Port Washington Ohio . I have not been able to find the ship they sailed on or where they landed . Does anyone have assess to German ship List during this time . I lived in Baumholder from 1998-2001. I'm sure you know there's a military post there. It is a nice little town and I have wonderful memories of it. There is also a LDS Family History center in Baumholder. I used to volunteer there, even though I'm not a lds member. Thanks for any help > In what ports of entry have you looked at the passenger arrivals lists? Where is /was Port Washington Ohio? When were they in Port Washington? In 1880 I fnd a Daniel Pees in Kansas and Jacob in Michigan, both born in Prussia.. They could have entered the USA through Philadelphia, Baltimore, New Orleans or via Montreal. Are there other Geman families in the vicinity that might have come with your Pees. The PALs for the us ports ae avialble though a FHC.
