It contains an alphabetical listing with tons of detailed maps. It is definitely worth the few extra dollars to get the large sized version over the smaller one. I have the Hammond Atlas which is IMO, fair. For instance Martesheim is not in the atlas and the coordinates are not the European coordinates but ones developed by the German publisher. Search B&N, Borders, Amazon, Rand-McNally etc for German atlases. Send a message to geo@genealogy.net with the names of the three towns each on a separate line and you will get political and geographical information; > >Thank you for the website for the genealogy society. Google for genealogy societies in those towns: Bad Dürkeim, Alzey and Worms. ********* Information for list members: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/DEU/PFALZ.html ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PFALZ-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Rudy, Does the particular atlas, of which you speak, include historic locations (town names) or perhaps that is not too much of an issue/concern when it comes to locations in Germany. In other words, would one expect to be able to locate historic towns in the current edition of the "Deutschland ADAC MaxiAtlas"; villages that were in existence ca. 1800-1850? Thank you, Bette Hello List, If anybody wants a really GREAT atlas, I would recommend the following which can be purchased over the Internet directly from the publisher: Deutschland ADAC MaxiAtlas I only ever found one single little town, which actually had formerly been a farm, that was not listed.
