In April my daughter and I will be traveling in Germany. We plan to spend time in Kaiserlautern as that is the area (Winterbach and Pirmasens) where my BECKER and BLINN families are from. I understand the Institute for Palatine History and Folklife Studies is located in Kaiserlautern. Has anyone done research there, and if so, is it possible to research there if you can't speak German? While in Kaiserlautern or the surrounding area, we would like to stay at a guesthouse or pension rather than a hotel. Can anyone make a recommendation? I've tried on the internet but only find hotels listed. From this area we plan to drive north along the west side of the Rhine to Cologne. Any suggestions of a nice place to stay or recommendations anyone might have regarding sights to see along this site would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
