When I type the German "Hausen" into my translation program I get "dwell". Does this refer to where someone lives, as dwelling? Would we understand that to mean the house? Would my family name "Sassmannshausen" mean the "Sassmann house", or the "House of Sassmann"? I know there is a town (village) by the name of Sassmannshausen in Germany where my ancestors came from, just north west of Bad Laasphe. This is the reason for my above questions.
