Hi Joe, My great grandfather's given name was Balthasar and this I only found on his baptismal record in the Pfalz. In all his other records (in the USA) he was named as Baltz, Baltzer, Balzer, Balcer, Bolzer. Old family members remember him as Bolzer and did not realize that his name was actually Balthasar.
