    3. Hi I am searching for my ancestor roots and would like to see if we still have family in Germany. Johann Heinrich Lambert was born 1 Feb 1736 in Otterberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Pfalz, Germany and was a Cartwright by trade. His father was Johann Nicholas Gergerd Lambert born 1705 and his mother was Maria Schuler 1702-1762. Johann Heinrich Lambert married Elizabetha Margaetha Daude, 6 Dec 1760 in Thaleischweiler, Germany, daughter of Johann Heinrich Daude/Daute (1715- ) and Anna Elizabetha Brandstetter (1718- ). Research conducted in Germany by Lambert descendents determined that the father of Johann Nicholas Gergard Lambert (1705-1752) of Otterberg, Pfalz, Germany was Johann Lambert, mother unknown. The parents of Maria Schuler (1702/1712- ) was Casimir Schuler and Maria Susanne Minton. Johann Heinrich and his family sailed on the Ship Chance to America and arrived 9 Sept. 1765 and traveled to New Amsterdam (New York) where they stayed for approximately 15 years. Also aboard the ship were Magdalena Daude's parents, Johann Heinrich Daude and Anna Elizabetha Brandstetter Daude, Christopher Kettering, Michael Kettering, and Johan Jacob Kettering. Many of the descendants of the Ketterings use the spelling Catron. The Lamberts and Ketterings would eventually settle in Wythe County, Virginia. Any information on the above listed families will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Edna M. Lambert Miller jessieandedna@home.com
