Dear List Members, Is anyone researching the village/town Freinsheim, Rhein-Pfalz, Bayern ca. 1754? I am looking for the birth of Anna Juliana BOEHM in Freinsheim to unknown parents. Anna Juliana BOEHM married a Johann Nicklas URBAN, perhaps when she was in her 40s, since their son was born in 1798 @ Ungstein when Anna Juliana was 44 years of age and Joh. Nicklas was 60 years old. Any leads would be happily received. Bette
Dear Bette Because I have worked a lot with huguenot and walloon names, I suspect the husbands name in stead of Johann Nicklas URBAN could be originaly in french Jean Nicolas URBAIN. He could be from Hainaut area in now southern Belgium or France. The name was used in PaturĂ¢ges, le Borinäge, Hainaut. If you look at FamilySearch and type "Jean URBAIN", you will se a lot of persons named URBAIN, also a few Jean Nicolas and Jean Francois URBAIN. I don't know, if you can use this information, but some huguenots and walloons were in Pfalz, when the Calvinistic religion was allowed. Some URBAIN are mentioned in these links: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=ancestorsearchresults.asp http://home5.inet.tele.dk/koudal/slaegt (my webpage) Friendly greetings from Denmark Hanne Thorup Koudal
