    1. Priszen, Luxembourg - or is it now Germany? + HAIZER

    3. Sending to both Trier and Pfalz lists: I have not been able to find location for Priszen, Luxembourg, and I know the borders between Germany and Luxembourg have changed over the years. My guess is that it is near Mettendorf, Germany and the present-day Germany/Luxembourg border. Or has the town name changed over time? Also seeking information on HAIZER (may also have been spelled HESER). Related to research re: Anna Mary HAIZER Born August 24, 1838 in Priszen, Luxembourg. Died February 2, 1886 in White Lake, South Dakota, United States. (Note: Some research indicates the last name of HAIZER might have been HESER in earlier years—or that HESER was simply a translation from Latin church records error.) She married: Nicholas (Nicolauni) KOCH Born June 28, 1822 - in Mettendorf, Germany Died August 2, 1899, in White Lake, South Dakota, United States. 3. Laura What kind of map have you been using? Is it a detailed map that includes Luxembourg? I can locate Mettendorf, which is well inside Germany (now, at least), but I can find no Priszen, or any "close" spelling. My Luxembourg map, although detailed, is only just a small strip along the German border. I also checked France as far East as Pirmasens and could find nothing. You might check for a parish by that name. That (probably) would not show up on a map. 3. Consider Priszen to be Preussen or some such (Prussia). Don H. ----- Original Message ----- From: "K.
