My guess is that it is near Mettendorf, Germany and the present-day Germany/Luxembourg border. Or has the town name changed over time? Laura What kind of map have you been using? Is it a detailed map that includes Luxembourg? I can locate Mettendorf, which is well inside Germany (now, at least), but I can find no Priszen, or any "close" spelling. My Luxembourg map, although detailed, is only just a small strip along the German border. I also checked France as far East as Pirmasens and could find nothing. You might check for a parish by that name. That (probably) would not show up on a map.
