    3. I surely hope you folks are just sitting there, eager to help a newby who knows absolutely NOTHING about German genealogy but who has just discovered an ancestor who was a German immigrant!! I am SO anxious to learn more about his life in Germany, where he lived, who his parents were, etc. My eagerly awaited papers arrived today, and I truly believe the signature on the passenger list and the signature on the will, although 40 years apart, were made by the same man. SO!!! His name was Peter KIEFFER (COOPER in America). I don't know his life span or birth year, but he died in York Co, PA in 1766. He married Margaretta FRY in PA; she was the daughter of John and Dorothea FRY. His children were named Adam, Peter, Maria Eva "Eve", and Elizabeth; Adam was the first son. He arrived in Philadelphia on the Robert And Alice 11 September 1738. The book that contains this information reads: "At the Courthouse of Philadelphia, September 11th, 1738. Present The Honourable George Thomas, Esqr, Lt Gov....The Palatines whose Names are underwritten, imported in the Ship Robert and Alice, of Dublin, Walter Goodman, Comr, from Rotterdam, but last from Dover in England, did this day take and subscribe the Oaths to the Government." Are there records involving immigration that show the names of parents and/or other pertinent data? Obviously, I am most interested in finding his parents' names, but I'm just excited to be on this new journey, no matter where it takes me!! I will be anxious to learn from y'all!! ********************************* Rockett's theory of relativity: If you go back far enough, we're all related.
