    1. [PFALZ] Zweibrucken Articles
    2. The Winter 1999 issue of German Genealogical Digest (vol 15 no 4) includes a feature which may be of interest to this list and to those who have ancestral origins in the Zweibrucken region. The table of contents summarized the article, "The Palatine Duchy of Zweibrucken. America's ties with subjects of the duchy of Zweibrucken began early as emigrants from the duchy began populating the eastern United States. This article begins with the translation of an administrative history of the Zweibrucken duchy written in 1822 by Matthew Simon and translated by Roger P. Minert, Ph.D., A.G. Part 2 of the article is a compilation by Laraine K. Ferguson of localities within the duchy, including over 1,500 surnames of 18th century subjects. Names of over 250 early emigrants to American are included with places of origin in the duchy." The cover has a James Derheim picture of the "Residenz Schloss" (Residence Castle) of Zweibrucken, built in 1720 and restored sometime after World War II. ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
