This article begins with the translation of an administrative history of the Zweibrucken duchy written in 1822 by Matthew Simon and translated by Roger P. Minert, Ph.D., A.G. Part 2 of the article is a compilation by Laraine K. Ferguson of localities within the duchy, including over 1,500 surnames of 18th century subjects. Names of over 250 early emigrants to American are included with places of origin in the duchy."
