Hi, I am searching for the village/town of origin of my GENIUS and SCHUMAN families. Our old family bible says that JAMES (JACOB) GENIUS was born 26 Jul 1834 "near Neustadt a/ Haardt". I've been told that that means he was from a village/town near Neustadt in the Haardt Mountains. But which village! James' parents were FRANZ EDUARD GENIUS (a burgermeister of his village) and MARGARET SCHUMAN. Both parents died about 1844. They were probably Protestants. Does anyone know if either of these surnames (especially GENIUS) is found in a town/village near Neustadt? Is anyone else researching either surname in the Neustadt area? Thanks, Pam in Louisiana
