Good afternoon: I am trying to find the location of birth of my gggrandparents: LUKAS, Michael b. 1827 and MIEDEL, Magdalena b. 1837 in Rheinland, Bavaria? Michael LUKAS and his wife and five adult children immigrated about 1888 with five of their adult children. One child for sure, remained in Germany. Michael was 61 years old when they immigrated. For some of their children, census records say they were born in Niederberg, Bavaria. One child's marriage records says, Varsaw. Another says Hömannsberg. My father always told me his grandparents were from Koblenz, as he heard as a child. What a three-ring circus. I have checked LDS church films for Niederberg (Sankt Goar) and Koblenz (St. Kastor and Liebfrauen Church) with no luck. I also checked civil records. Are there other smaller area Catholic churches I should be checking? The years would be 1827 or earlier to 1888. The LUKAS' were very devout catholic's, so I would imagine there are vital records somewhere. Any help or ideas as to what I should do next would be greatly appreciated! Nancy
