    3. Hello, I am new to this list. I have been researching the Geiger name for about 20 years, but never in Germany. I just found this list so I thought I would inquire about my Geigers. I do not know the town they are from, but I know some of their birth dates. There were four brothers who came to the U.S., three of whom stayed in the U.S., married and raised families. Henry Geiger, born May 1852, Germany. I think he must have been married in Germany the first time about 1877. Then married the 2nd time to a Barbara Karl around 1887. I believe they came to the U.S. around 1890. The following were children of Henry Geiger. George Geiger, born Aug 1878, Germany Barbara Geiger, born Oct 1, 1880, Germany Peter Geiger, born Mar 10, 1883, Germany Andrew Geiger, born Jul 23, 1886, Germany Ernest Geiger, born 1888, Germany John Geiger, born Jun 23, 1889, Germany Henry Geiger, born Aug 23, 1891, St. Louis, MO Mathias Geiger, born Aug 31, 1861, Germany. He came to the U.S. at the age of 14, arriving in New York on 17 August 1876. He settled in St. Louis and worked as a stonemason. He married a Bertha Nowack and had three children; Henry Geiger Elsa Geiger, born Jul 13, 1895, St. Louis, MO, married John Andrew Kohne Mathias William Geiger, born Mar 19, 1886, St. Louis, MO, married Ada Belle Moore George Geiger, born Aug 11, 1865, Germany. He came to the U.S. at the age of 16, arriving in New York on Feb 25, 1882. He was a cigar maker in St. Louis for a while, then moved on to Racine, Wisconsin. He married Ida Louise Kathe, but they had no children. They adopted a child, Lucille (Wilson), who is still living in Wisconsin. I believe these Geigers came from the Rhineland-Pfalz area, and that they left family behind in Germany. One child was sent to the U.S. to escape the German Army, but became so homesick that he returned to Germany. I am a granddaughter of Mathias Geiger and am interested in finding any ancestors or descendants of this family. Thank you for any information you might have. Beverly
