RE: Dietrich.Dieterich/Dederich Marian- I do not see an immediate connection but I would have to look over a map to see just how close the places are. I know the standard line is that everyone married their next door neighbor and folks did not travel much. My Hausmann line is proof that this was not always the case, moving quite a bit themselves and marrying across Duchies. I think this is likely true of most professionals and tradespeople. For better or for worse, they were simply more mobile than the farmers. It is interesting that they share the same profession school- teaching.
