I have copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates that my great uncle got 40 years ago from Germany. I want to write to these same places and need some help. On two of the certificates is a stamp mark with the words "Freistaat Bayern Gemeinde Schmitshausen". On two others is written these locations: Wallhalben-Oberhausen and Schallodenbach-Pfalz (Catholic rectory is mentioned also). Does anyone know the meaning of and/or how I could write to these places? Also does anyone know how I can get vital statistic information from Zweibruchen concerning births, baptisms (Catholic), and marriages? On two of these documents there is a farm mentioned called Wickelhof (near Schallodenbach), and a "Cross Chapel". Are either of these familiar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
