    3. Christine, In response to your query, I am researching the surname Schmidt. Unfortunately , this is so common it is a difficult task! I have: Elizabeth Schmidt, born 1813 in Kandel, Germesheim (obit says in Preussen). Cannot find info on parents. The obit is from a church book and the minister's handwriting is quite scribbly. She came to the U.S. in 1835 with Johann Dieter Kolb (also of Kandel), landed in New Orleans and were married there, moved to Cincinnati, then to Indiana. She died in 1888 in Dearborn County Indiana. Good luck with your research Diane Weber -----Original Message----- From: Christine Harris <charris@mwis.net> To: PFALZ-L@rootsweb.com <PFALZ-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Thursday, January 20, 2000 5:10 AM Subject: [PFALZ] Fw: MY Family - Neuhemsbach, Mehlingen, Dannenfels, Bischeim, Gonbach, Sippersfeld, ETC > >My mother is from a very small town close to Kaiserslautern Germany.
