Rose: I am and have been on several of the rootsweb lists, and have never received any spam. I am also careful as you are, so perhaps it is earthlink? Have been on Pfalz list for well over a year, and have no problems. Also I recently changed from ATT to AOL (using yahoo) and still have no problems. This doesn't really help you, but it at least presents negatives to eliminate.
