If your family was there, you should be able to gather a lot of information from those. I've successfully traced a number of my German ancestry back to the 15 and 1600s using the microfilmed records at my local Family History Center. The only time I wrote to Speyer was when one of the books I was looking at was filmed with the binding partially closed so part of the entry wasn't visible. I wrote to Speyer for 3 pages and got those in a couple of months. They were fairly expensive as I recall and that was even with me providing the exact dates. They were the exact pages I had looked at but with the page fully opened so I could see all the writing. Pam http://www.pamsgenealogy.net
