    3. Thanks Bob, It is also recommended that surnames be ALL CAPS, so they stand out in a message. In fact the message subject line is recommended by the genealogy community to be formatted as "Firstname LASTNAME; Place; date." On some mail lists, unless you format queries that way, many readers will immediately delete it. (Messages titled such as "Help", "Genealogy", and especially "Re: PFALZ Digest, Vol 1, Issue 8" never make it past the Delete Key.)
