Dear List, After my last post, I have managed to really confuse. I will try again. I am looking for the birth record & marriage record for Anna Juliana BOEHM born ca. 1754 in Freinsheim, Rhein-Pfalz per her son's birth record in 1798. Her parents & siblings are unknown to me. She married Johann Nicklaus URBAN ( he was from Ungstein) before 1798. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Dear Hanne Thorup Koudal, Thank you for your reply; however, I am very confident (solidly documented) regarding the URBANS and for the most part it is not their whereabouts that I seek. Having said that I am, however, at a dead end (hopefully temporarily) at events that precede 1707 for my URBAN family. This particular Joh. Nicklaus URBAN was born in 1740 in Ungstein, Rhein-Pfalz. I have this birth record and his son's birth record in Ungstein, as well. It is this Joh. Nicklaus URBAN's marriage to Anna "Juliana BOEHM from Freinsheim" that alludes me. Juliana BOEHM's name & the Freinsheim location is given in their son's birth record. I hope this is a clearer presentation, on my part, of my search efforts. Bette > Dear Bette > > Because I have worked a lot with huguenot and walloon names, I suspect the > husbands name in stead of Johann Nicklas URBAN could be originaly in > french Jean Nicolas URBAIN. > He could be from Hainaut area in now southern Belgium or France.
Dear List Members, Is anyone researching the village/town Freinsheim, Rhein-Pfalz, Bayern ca. 1754? I am looking for the birth of Anna Juliana BOEHM in Freinsheim to unknown parents. Anna Juliana BOEHM married a Johann Nicklas URBAN, perhaps when she was in her 40s, since their son was born in 1798 @ Ungstein when Anna Juliana was 44 years of age and Joh. Nicklas was 60 years old. Any leads would be happily received. Bette

Bob, Priszen, Luxembourg is listed in old family records as the birth place of Anna Mary HAIZER (may also have been spelled HESER). I have received responses from TRIER list that make sense, so I think it has been answered...unless you have other information. Please see below. Thank you! Laura "the "ß" is called "scharfes s" (sharp s) or "sz" in Germany. So in past days, Preußen could be Preuszen. From, Preuszen to Priszen it`s not so far. It`s was so unusual that emigrants said they came from "Preussen, Luxemburg", even this makes no sense politically. I think they meant, that they came from the Lux/pruss border region." > Anna Mary HAIZER > Born August 24, 1838 in Priszen, Luxembourg. > Died February 2, 1886 in White Lake, South Dakota, United States. > (Note: Some research indicates the last name of HAIZER might have been HESER in earlier yearsor that HESER was simply a translation from Latin church records error.) Other TRIER list response re: HAIZER: Haizer is spelled in English the way Heser is pronounced in German. I strongly suspect that Haizer is the Anglicized version of the name. ********************** -----Original Message----- From: bob gillis [mailto:robertgillis@verizon.net] Sent: Friday, August 11, 2006 1:25 PM To: PFALZ-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Pfalz] Priszen, Luxembourg - or is it now Germany? + HAIZER Laura Henkes wrote: on Tuesday, August 08, 2006 1:39 PM >>Subject: [Pfalz] Priszen, Luxembourg - or is it now Germany? + >> >>I have not been able to find location for Priszen, Luxembourg, >>and I know the borders between Germany and Luxembourg have >>changed over the years. Ann, I saw the e-mail where you said that you had the Germans to America CD's. I would appreciate it if you would look up the name John Traut, Trauth, or Trouth, Trout and Anna Mary Zoffinger. Both immigrated in 1856 or 1857 from the Pfalz, probably from LeHavre. I Googled a Luxembourg gazetteer and there was no Priszen in Luxembourgish, French or Gerrman. Nor any town starting with Pri. geo@genealogy.net does not come up with a match in Germany for Priszen A Google search on Priszen came up with a number of hits on it as a surname. bob gillis > >-----Original Message----- >From: Laura Henkes [mailto:lmhenkes@yahoo.com] >Sent: Tuesday, August 08, 2006 1:39 PM >To: PFALZ-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [Pfalz] Priszen, Luxembourg - or is it now Germany? + HAIZER > > >Sending to both Trier and Pfalz lists: > >I have not been able to find location for Priszen, Luxembourg, >and I know the borders between Germany and Luxembourg have >changed over the years. Laura What kind of map have you been using? Is it a detailed map that includes Luxembourg? I can locate Mettendorf, which is well inside Germany (now, at least), but I can find no Priszen, or any "close" spelling.
