    3. Hello All, My first post to this list. Does anyone's research take them into Imsbach or Winnweiler...(part of the Rhine-Pfalz). Recent find: GGG/grandfather, Georg Heinrich REMÜNDER , a basketmaker, was born about 1792 in Imsbach/Pfalz as a son of Karl Friedrich REMÜNDER. Georg married about 1820 in Imsbach to Juliane HECHT, born about 1795 in Otterstadt, daughter of Franz Xaver HECHT and Margarethe BRAUSER. Good evening, Deb Tallahassee,FL

    3. Hi Fellow Pfalz searchers! I have just recently uploaded my Ruppert Family History and Genealogy web site that contains lots of data in reference to a number of Pfalz families. Most of these are from the Kreis Alzey and Kreis Worms areas. I have included a map of the area and several ahnentafels as well as a narrative about the immigrant ancestor and some photos. The address is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ruppert I hope you will stop by and check things out and perhaps offer a critique. Thank you Gary 13 May 2000 Baltimore

    3. Hello Kay I highly recommend you use Interlibrary Loan to borrow the three-volume first edition of Strassburger, Ralph B., "Pennsylvania German Pioneers: A publication of the original lists of arrivals in the port of Philadelphia from 1727-1808." The original 3-vol edition from, I believe 1934, includes a volume containing the passengers' facsimile signatures; the 1966 reprint by the Geneaological Publishing Company omits that volume. You already have the relevant passenger list, apparently, but Strassburger's introductory essays to the three volumes are full of wonderful information and will answer many of your questions. David Foy ("Fey" in 1741, according to the passenger list for the snow Molly, Oct 26 of that year.) -----Original Message----- From: Kay Rockett [mailto:KayRockett@webtv.net] Sent: Wednesday, May 10, 2000 4:57 PM To: PFALZ-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PFALZ] German Research I surely hope you folks are just sitting there, eager to help a newby who knows absolutely NOTHING about German genealogy but who has just discovered an ancestor who was a German immigrant!! I am SO anxious to learn more about his life in Germany, where he lived, who his parents were, etc. My eagerly awaited papers arrived today, and I truly believe the signature on the passenger list and the signature on the will, although 40 years apart, were made by the same man. SO!!! His name was Peter KIEFFER (COOPER in America). I don't know his life span or birth year, but he died in York Co, PA in 1766. He married Margaretta FRY in PA; she was the daughter of John and Dorothea FRY. His children were named Adam, Peter, Maria Eva "Eve", and Elizabeth; Adam was the first son. He arrived in Philadelphia on the Robert And Alice 11 September 1738. The book that contains this information reads: "At the Courthouse of Philadelphia, September 11th, 1738. Present The Honourable George Thomas, Esqr, Lt Gov....The Palatines whose Names are underwritten, imported in the Ship Robert and Alice, of Dublin, Walter Goodman, Comr, from Rotterdam, but last from Dover in England, did this day take and subscribe the Oaths to the Government." Are there records involving immigration that show the names of parents and/or other pertinent data? ...

    3. Suggestion: Send an email to geo@genealogy.net and put the town name Erbach in the body of the message, nothing else. You will receive an email within a few minutes listing seven locations for Erbach - four of which are in Hesse. Hope this helps. 3. There are two listings for Poppenweiler on this town search website. http://www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm You may need to check out both of them if you have no further information as to which is the correct one. However a search of the current telephone books at http://www.teleauskunft.de/ for each lists six Eschers in the Poppenweiler near Ludwigsburg. I found none in the other. I hope this helps. The LDS FamilySearch site says the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City has 5 microfilms of the Poppenweiler church books starting in 1586 to 1909 for the one nearest Stuttgart (OA. Ludwigsburg). You can rent the microfilms at your local LDS Family History Center. BTW, you should also subscribe to the BADEN-WURTTEMBERG maillist for more localized help. -- mailto:fhheld@freewwweb.com
