I would appreciate a transcript of the cert. Regarding Margaret WHITE's mother, my source was the IGI. They also spell the fathers surname as WYHTE. I agree with your details of the children. I have slotted Elspeth in, between Robert and John. Regarding William PETRIE, I have the following from his death registration. Death William PETRIE Retired Farm Servant Widower of Margaret WHITE Died - 9 Dec 1891 11 H 15m A.M. Village of Kettle, Kettle Male - 70 years Father - John PETRIE Hand Loom Linen Weaver (Deceased) Mother - Isabella PETRIE M.S INGLIS (Deceased) Cause of death - Influenza - 8 days; Neuralgia; Chronic Rheumatism - 10 years; As certified by James M BELL. M, D, ?. Informant - George PETRIE, son, New Road, Bannockburn. Registered - December 11th, 1891, at Kettle. Registrar - James CELLARS. (Source - SRO Death Registration - Ref: KETTLE 1891, Page 11, Entry No. 33.) I have a copy of the registration, if you would like it. Regarding Robert Meldrum PETRIE. I have his death date as 29 Jul 1890 in Kettle, Fife, Scotland. I received it in a Descendant Report I received from Joyce HILL via the SCT-FIFE list. So far I have not been able to confirm the information myself. In addition, I have a birth registration, for a Robert Meldrum PETRIE, bn. to William PETRIE and Maggie Easter Stormount ? PETRIE, nee DUFF, on 3 Feb 1905. At this stage I am not able to connect his parents into my tree. I have a suspicion that William PETRIE could be the son of the elder Robert Meldrum PETRIE, above. The above Descendant Report, starts with the marriage of John PETRIE and Isabella INGLIS on 26 Jan 1821, who are the parents of William PETTRIE and Margaret WHITE, below. Cheers for now. Hi Gavin, I've replied via the website just in case Norma and George are interested in the information. You're correct, Robert Meldrum PETRIE died in 1890. Marriage: He married Ann PEGGIE 16 June 1882 at Kettle, Fife Scotland Children: They had 3 children (as far as I'm aware:) Twin boys born 06 June 1882 at Kettle, Fife - 1 twin who was not named at birth, died on 07 June, 1882 at Kettle. The 2nd twin, named Robert, died 03 July 1882. William (the 3rd son) born 27 May 1884 at Kettle Fife. As per your previous email, William PETRIE married Margaret DUFF and they had a son Robert Meldrum Petire in 1905. I also have details of deaths for Elspeth, John and George PETRIE - the other children of William PETRIE and Margaret WHITE. If anyone wants the images from SP for any of the above BDM or for the death of William PETRIE in 1891, let me know and I'll email them to you. Best wishes Janice
