    1. Can someone help with a Petrie request from NZ?
    2. Hello Petrie Researchers, I received the following while researching one of my wife's family lines. Please contact Helen directly if you think you can help. Thanks, Dave Petrie Arden Hills, Minnesota, USA ============================================================ Hi Dave,Let me tell you my PETRIE story. I have a very dear elderly friend who knows very little about her father's family. her father was born 1898/9 in Arbroath. His name was David Petrie MACKAY . He was born to a single mother Ann(ie) MACKAY. She had a sister Betsy who married a ....MITCHELL. They emigrated to New Zealand with baby David. Ann(ie) was a daughter to a single Mother. Ann(ie) and her son lived at Lochland Street and she worked as a domestic. My greatest wish is to trace my friend Anne's family. She is very saddened that she knows so little about the paternal side of her family. Do you have any suggestions where I might search? The imagination I have is that the PETRIE part of his name maybe from his father's name.I did find that there was a PETRIE family....Charles PETRIE living in Lochland Street. He was married.!!! 3. Hello List and Helen The Petrie middle name may be something so innocent such as respect for a neighbour/friend who was most helpful to the single mum. I have a Christina Mackay Petrie born in NZ - the last child of 8 to James Petrie and Jane Robertson. I have no idea where the Mackay comes from. James & Jane had been in NZ for 20 years when Christina was born. I think this is just a coincidence and don't think there is a connection with Helen's friend. Helen you don't say if you have got a birth certificate for David Petrie MacKay. This might tell you something.
