Dear Petrie Researchers I have been looking for information on my GGGfather or who possibly is. My problem is that i do not know if George Petrie is my GGGfather the only information i have is from the IGI where there is a marriage of a George Petrie and Helen Innes which would match with the dates of my GGfathers birth and gives his birth. I have searched Scotland's people but cannot find a birth or death certificate. My Greatgrandfather came down from the Orkney's to Fife and I have a whole load of relatives but did not realise how difficult it would be to trace ancestors. Family names from the Orkneys apart from Petrie would be Work, Groat, Shearer, Mackenzie. I have spoken to a few of you before but have not been on site lately Thanks in advance for any help.
