    3. Hello everyone We are going up to Kirkmichael on Saturday to meet another long lost relative. We will be going into the churchyard when we are there, so if anyone wants me to look at anything for them, just give me a shout. I found another Petrie grave in the churchyard - it is the grave for Janet Petrie who married Henry Murray. At the moment, the gravestone is lying face down, but I've checked the records and it is the correct one. They had many children (about 14). I have traced down the lines but there are still one or two of their children who are eluding me! Two of their sons, John and George Murray became Church of Scotland Ministers - one in Glasgow, the other in Stanley and then Ayr. Another son moved away to New Zealand, and a grandson died in India. I have more info if anyone is interested. Janet Petrie was the daughter of John Petrie and Betsy (Betty) Robertson. Speak again soon, Jennifer

    3. Hi Hazel, There is quite a lot - will type it out and send it tonight after the kids are in bed. this branch of the Petries seems to have been quite clever- there are solicitor's and writers amongst them! Quite a few of the bigger gravestones in Kirkmichael churchyard are for the Murrays - over beside the wall. Jennifer PS Will email you later on ----- Original Message ----- From: Hazel<mailto:hhgar@btinternet.com> To: petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com<mailto:petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com> Sent: 09 November 2006 12:00 Subject: Re: [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Kirkmichael Petries Hi Jennifer Would be grateful for the info to add to the tree. 3. Hello Jennifer Any pics of Petrie gravestones relating to the Alexander line would be appreciated - you will probably be able to identify them better than I :-) I don't know whether "our" Christina Petrie is buried there ........ daughter of Alexander and Annie - bn29 Jan 1878, died 9 March 1880 Steps of Cally ....... perhaps she would be at Bridge of Cally? Bye for now Heather >From: "Jennifer Petrie" <JenniferPetrie@hotmail.com> >Reply-To: petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com >To: "petrie-scotland" <petrie-scotland@rootsweb.com> >Subject: [PETRIE-SCOTLAND] Kirkmichael Petries >Date: Thu, 9 Nov 2006 11:09:36 -0000 > >Hello everyone > >We are going up to Kirkmichael on Saturday to meet another long lost >relative.
