He was George Petrie born in Scotland (census does not say where) in 1854, Aged 26 he was married to Theresa Jane Bates 1861 (married 1880 in Stockton) with a daughter Kate a few months old living with the Bates family in Stockton North Yorkshire. In 1891 he was living with his sister Elizabeth (born 1831 in York) in Middlesbrough. I would appreciate any information as to where he could have been born and who his parents were. He possibly joined the navy as a teenager, his occupation aged 26 was a Tug boat manager and later he became a Tug boat owner moving ships in and out of the Tees. Look forward from hearing from you.
