    3. Kari, I think you may be related to my wife rather than me. She has a different William Petrie and Anne Nicoll in her (distant) tree, who lived in the Montrose area in the late 1700's and early 1800's. I have no record of an Alexander as a son of my William and Anne who lived in Dundee in the early 1800's, although it is possible. My wife is descended from William and Anne's son Robert. I don't have a date for the marriage, but Robert was christened about 4th December 1798. Confusing isn't it? Any thoughts which William and Mary might be your husband's? Most of this information has come from Norma, so we can be confident about it. Once you know which William is yours, I can give you all the information I have.
